Le Coup de Foudre (2019)
I was personally excited for this one and was waiting months for this drama to air! It a novel adaption so you can always check that out! I will focus on the drama itself.
The drama starts as angsty, cute, and frustrating at times. I loved this drama in particular because it didn’t just focus on love; it explores multiple chapters of life, including the unfortunate life situation many people experience growing up. It also covers beautiful moments in life that are mundane. Le Coupe de Foudre is staring Janice Wu as Zhao Xiao Yi and Zhang Yu Jian as Yan Mo. The drama explores regret, second chances, lost opportunities, and so so many touching moments that will dig deep in your heart.
Reasons I Love this Drama:
As much as I love the male lead and female lead, their dynamic is weird, which I enjoy. Xiao Yi is very timid, sweet, and quiet, and Yan Mo is cold, mysterious, but lovable. They fit well together and have many shortcomings in terms of their personalities, but somehow it’s endearing. Towards the end of the drama, we hear a heartfelt confession from Xiao Yi and Yan Mo, but it’s interesting because this is a couple of years after they marry. Another significant aspect of this drama is the relationship everyone has with each other. Especially, Xiao Yi with her BFF, Dad, Brother, and Mo Mo’s uncle. These are characters you will love as well.
One thing I did not like about the drama:
Yan Mo what type of proposal was that!? At least I love you, let’s get married would have been better! But the reality of life is that’s not how it always goes!
Overall, this drama is excellent. I recommend it to everyone — 10/10 drama. It’s relatable, lovable, and very diverse in its topics each character encounters.
